As a fourth year marketing student at the University of Ottawa's Telfer School of Management, I am currently completing an internship at Ramius, the developers of this site! This December will mark the end of my glorious journey through University, which I'm both excited and sad about at the same time.
Through the School of Management, I participate in various extracurricular activities - last March I went to Quebec City to participate in Happening Marketing, a marketing-based case competition that involves 3-member teams solving major company issues and presenting to judges and business reps from the sponsoring companies. This January I will be taking part in another (larger) case competition, Les Jeux du Commerce (The website link is under my pages, if you're interested). From what I've heard, it's an AMAZING experience and I'm really looking forward to it!
The Commerce and Administration Student Charity Organization (CASCO) is a group that hosts an annual fundraiser for CHEO, which will be held December 1st. I will be making my Ottawa musical debut by performing a song (or two) with some other talented musicians from Telfer. I'm also very excited for this event!
Upon graduation, I'm looking forward to a career in B-to-B sales, event management, advertising & promotion, or marketing research. Right now there isn't one field I'm specifically interested in; I like a lot variation and I think I have the attitude, skills, and experience to succeed in any of these areas. We'll see what happens!
In my spare time I enjoy playing guitar and singing (sometimes with bongos, harmonica, and maybe a ukulele thrown into a jam session), practicing yoga, hiking, kayaking/canoeing, reading, camping, exploring and learning about various fields of interest (environmentalism, new music, world politics, international business, religion, web 2.0, marketing trends, etc.) and spending time with my fabulous friends and family :)
One more thing...This website is new and as the marketing intern, I would LOVE to get any feedback on what you like about this page, what you don't like, what you would like changed, added, etc.
Feel free to create a profile! Let me know what you think at sharvey@ramius.net. Thanks!
